Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior AI Scientist to drive the research, design, and deployment of advanced AI systems that powerthe future of value-based healthcare. This role blends deep technical research expertise with hands-on engineering execution, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in:

• Large Language Models (LLMs) and Agentic AI
• Predictive modeling for quality, risk, and cost
• Healthcare-specific NLP, reasoning, and data structuring
• Responsible AI and compliance-driven frameworks

This is not a “maintenance” role. It is a frontier position: the right candidate will help shape Cozeva’s AI direction, deliver breakthrough products, and work directly with leadership to bring cutting-edge AI into production.

Key Responsibilities

• AI Research & Development: Design and build novel AI models and pipelines in:
  • NLP for structuring unstructured clinical data (EHRs, notes, CCDs, FHIR).
  • Predictive modeling for patient risk stratification and quality outcomes.
  • LLM-based workflows for coding, abstraction, and automation.
• Agentic AI Applications: Develop and deploy autonomous AI workflows that seamlessly integrate into providerand payer operations.
• Hands-On Engineering: Write production-quality code and collaborate with engineering teams to bring modelsinto large-scale deployments.
• Collaboration: Work closely with US- and India-based teams, sharing expertise and advancing AI best practicesacross the organization.
• Responsible AI: Ensure transparency, fairness, and compliance in models, consistent with Cozeva’s AI Governance Framework v1.1.
• Knowledge Sharing: Contribute to internal and external thought leadership (papers, workshops, standardsbodies) as opportunities arise.

Minimum Qualifications

• PhD or Master’s with equivalent experience in AI/ML, Computer Science, or related field.
• 6–10 years of experience in AI/ML, with a track record of deploying models into production.
• Demonstrated expertise in one or more of:
  • Large Language Models (training, fine-tuning, deployment).
  • Healthcare AI: NLP, risk adjustment, predictive modeling. Agentic AI and autonomous workflows.
• Strong programming and system design skills (Python, PyTorch/TensorFlow, distributed systems, cloud architectures).
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to translate research into practical applications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare IT, health economics, or regulatory-compliant AI systems.
• Contributions to open-source AI/ML libraries or healthcare data standards (FHIR, CQL, USCDI).
• Publications, patents, or conference presentations in AI/ML.
