About Us
Applied Research Works, Inc. (ARW) is a recognized leader and provider of healthcare technology solutions since 2012
Applied Research Works, Inc. (ARW), creates software products and services to solve challenging data problems in healthcare, government, education and social care organizations. Cofounders, Yin Ling Leung, a community health educator, and Shaibal Roy, a computer scientist, combined their strengths to create ARW’s flagship product Cozeva, a powerful real-time data integration platform that can be used by one organization or multiple stakeholders to provide the best health and social care for people.
Since 2012, Cozeva has helped health plans and physician organizations of all sizes to align processes and programs to transform traditional fee-for-service systems toward value-based care. In 2015, Cozeva began serving provider organizations that participate in the innovative California Pay-for-Performance program and with accountable care organizations across the country.
What does Cozeva mean? In French, “coze” means “to chat in a friendly manner” and “va” is the Latin for “to go or move.” Together, coze+va (pronouced “koh-zee-va”), conveys the spirit of our company: to communicate and move people towards health and wellness.

Khanh brings over 15-years of experience in creative payer-provider collaborations to help lead ARW’s goals for advancing value-based care with technology innovations. Her previous role was Vice President, Pharmacy Services and Population Health at Hill Physicians Medical Group in California, in which she launched a new population health care model focused on delivering the Quadruple Aim. Her leadership around care innovations, social determinants of health and health disparities, patient engagement, system integrations for enhanced point-of-care solutions, and provider incentive programs broke new ground in California’s sophisticated managed-care environment. She has a Doctorate from the University of California San Francisco, School of Pharmacy.
Amitava Maulik
Chief Information Officer
Amitava holds over 30 years of experience in leading the development of products for massive parallel event processing for real time analytics. He has built data mining, analytics, data warehousing, and high-performance distributed computing tools, which can ingest terabytes of data from huge populations (in the tens of millions). By identifying the discrepancies that lead to poor quality of service and revenue leakage, his big data tools are able to continuously monitor population generated events, profile their individual behavior and identify potential fraud and abuse. One of Amitava’s strengths is his ability to generate product innovations through customer interactions, brainstorming, and rapid prototyping.

Over the past four years, Nikki has led ARW’s sales and customer success. She has worked with each and every client ARW has to date, from the beginning of the sales process, through implementation and oversees customer success and the customer relationship.
